  1. From "New and Fabulous", there are so many overwhelmingly amazing resources, but I am particularly loving the "Habits of Mind" questioning section located on pages 41 and 42. To have students question their own thoughtfulness is our goal as educators. Though I am somewhat familiar with the layers represented in the "Habits of Mind" way of thinking, I have never seen the questions so clearly articulated. The "what" questions ask for reasons to support, which then activate the assumptions, inferences and application. From there, the element of truth is brought to the surface. Then, in order to defend the truth, one must use examples support or on the contrary to denounce. Bringing this method into the classroom will encourage students to question the author, his/her reasoning and their own opinions, assumptions and conclusions. I love it!
